I wanted to get that one on.....if it got lost...i was not retyping it!
I'm having the chance to do some thinking about life and what i want to do, and how i conduct my life.....the one conclusion i have come to is that I'm very indecisive.....I'm sure there are ppl out there that have known this for a while....but it really hit home for me yesterday. When i went to the hot springs...i was fully prepared to go in and chill...then i started thinking about time restrictions and such...so i got to the river....and I'm like....na...i should just go back...got too much other stuff to do...then I'm like....well I'm here....and back and fourth.....so i crossed and found the springs.....same deal there....I need to make a decision and stick with it. But in the end i got to see what i wanted to see.
I need to find the discipline to be able to do this. I need to become a stronger more.......something....dam it....person....I cant let external problems or issues mess with me. I need to find out how to do this. If anyone has any advice...id love to hear it.
Another thing i need to do is....take life by the horns and make it do what i want. Don't just let it happen....I have let it just kinda happen for a while....made some choices that looked good at the time...but did not work out in the end.....that's different tho.....humm....if i want something...i have to get it...sometimes that works out.....sometimes it doesn't...that's life i suppose.
I still have not figured alot of shit out.....but as the miles go by and the van continues to slowly fall apart....I'm getting closer. There are still alot of questions i need to answer......still alot of hurt inside......and thank god for great....fuckin great friends who answer the phone when your smashed, alone, and need someone to talk to @ midnight after the bar. They offer great advice, don't judge, listen and help.....i would be lost with out ppl like this in my life......I'm lucky to have ppl like that for sure.
Ok.....time to get moving.

Big update....Thursday 1330 from Gillette WY
Ok.......fb is updated....photos and such....I've been sitting in sbucks for well over an hour....time to update the blog for the last couple days.
So where did i leave off.....i was sitting in the Silver dollar in Jackson.....ppl kept stealing all my chairs...finally when this gal stole my last one she said...if you wanna sit with us you can...we took all your chairs anyway! So i said sure...nice ppl....there was Mike, Mcayla, Bonnie, Kelsey, and.....Justin....lol...the only way i could remember their names was to associate them with something else! so Justin was Justin Morneau...Baseball player....Bonnie....was from a 'Bonnie situation' from Pulp Fiction, Mcayla was from Transformers...and it seemed to work! Had a great night @ the silver Dollar, danced a bit, chatted and then moved on to the Tavern....but Justin and i went to move my van to the over night parking lot down the street abit....so got back to the tavern shot the shit abit....place was kinda dead....Justin lost his phone...back to the van..lol....just gunned.....back to the tavern....called her a night soon after. Stumbled back to the van...woke up @ 8 still smashed....slept for another hour and was ok....hungover but ok! Found a place to have some breaky and made my way into the parks.
If you get the chance to go through Teton and Yellowstone....do it. Bucket list it. I hammered thru it due to time restraints (gatta get to Green Bay) You could easily spend....weeks in there...so much to see...wild life, diverse terrain, geological stuff....just a super cool place. In the south there was an inversion...so low cloud but it opened up to the north so that was good, saw some elk, buffalo, birds....all sorts of stuff. Drove around to see some key spots, Old Faithful, the falls, and some hidden hot springs. Got to see all that i wanted to as time allowed.....I will make a trip back here in the future.....and do it properly. Some un real scenery!
Started the drive toward the east entrance.....and came around a corner....right into a heard of Buffalo! on go the brakes....everything in the van shifts rapidly lol.....So now I'm idling along with this roaming heard of Buffalo....they don't care that I'm there....not at all!....so i took some blurry pics and some video of it....very cool....they finally found where they wanted to cross and they did......there was prob 50 or so on the road and another 50 off the road. After that excitement....continued east to Cody WY, filled up and east bound and down....thru a 9100 ft pass......kinda wishing i did it in the day and not at night....even at night i could tell there was some cool shit to see...so i stopped at the summit and shut the van down and just looked at the stars for a while........sure felt small and insignificant at that point. Continued down alittle further and parked for the night.
Got up to the sun shining, the valley floor in the distance and some amazing rock formations....its cool...the state has put up signs pointing @ the rocks...telling you the approx age and geological period they are from...some dated back 300 million years....cool stuff....WY has some very cool stuff in it!
So here i sit in Gillette WY....next stop Rushmore and then a big pile of driving over the next 2 days....bout 2000km to Green Bay and a football game that i kinda wanna see!

Update
So I'm in Jackson Hole WY....epic climb to get over Teton pass...8100+ feet...deli had to make a stop to cool down near the top...great view of Jackson hole from the summit......wow this is good beer.....I'm sitting at a place called the silver dollar...I have a pint of Mighty Bison brow ale and some elk sliders on the way...live music starting up in 20 min or so. Anyways...ya, nice drive, clear skies and snow on the ground.
Had my first truck stop shower today....not as bad as you might think! It was 10$....that sounds like alot...but after 3 or 4 days with no shower and a run....well worth the cash! So you pay, then you get a code...and go into a locked bathroom...very clean, they had towels...very nice. Had a good shower and a shave and you walk outta there feeling like a million bucks ready to dominate the road ahead!
Got the deli's oil changed today in Twin Falls, saw some great scenery and blazed to Jackson.
I think the sat radio is conspiring against me.....last night on a long, dark, lonely stretch of road with nothing but stars and the odd truck going the opposite direction to life the way....3 songs...not all in a row but within 15 mom of each other came on....dam....of so good...it seems when I'm busy I'm ok...but when I have time to think...and of course if a song comes on...it's all down hill. I'm not sure how to work past this problem.....will it ever go away? or is it just something you learn to deal with? I think I have to learn to deal with it and move on...what else can I do right...
It is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all....I'm not sure how to follow that up...I don't know of anyone can. Man up, accept it and move on.
Anyways....the band just started...kinda blue grass, county, some old dude with suspenders and some sweet moves is 2 stepping with some gal...awesome! Beer #2 is almost down the hatch....gonna be a good night...just need to find some ppl to chat with!

Day 8 recap
Well day 8 saw alot of driving. Reno to Lake Tahoe...bout an hour not too bad...another big climb up there...summit was just over 7100 feet! The Deli made it no worries....just slow!
Lake Tahoe is nice...I was told to take the gondola...but is was not in operation...so I found a place to park and wondered around. Nice place...I think it's like Whistler with a lake!
So drove back thru Reno and east to Twin Falls ID. Nice sunset over the mountains to the west...and some really nice night driving! Stopped in Winnimucca!! Yes from the Jonny Cash song! Pulled into Twin Falls round 12...I think...not too sure what time zone I'm in! My gps says one thing but the clocks in town say another!
So the game plan right now is to hey an oil change, hit a gym or a place to have a shower and continue onto Yellowstone...well Jackson WY anyway.

Day 7 re-cap
G'day! So...still not much to update!! Lets see,after I left Cresent city was more or less just driving...the California coast is very nice...had a nice drive, stopped a few times to have a snack (thank you Doloris!!!) had some football on the sat raido. Let me tell ya...the Delica dis not like the climb over the rocks into north central Cali! Lol! But after the first few mega hills it was more gradual...but between a place called Weaverville and Redding...now that is I road you want to drive in a sweet sports car or a bike! Tight twisties, mostly down hill...the Delica handled it quite well for a 4000LB tippy Japenese van! After all that fun was climbing into the hills again into eastern Cali up to around 6000 ft...now this was weird...when I was logging and I did a job down in northern Cali, it certain scent, well going thru those hills last night...had the same smell...brought back some good memories!
Pulledinto Reno just after midnight, crusied the strip...very neat! Found a spot like 5 min from downtown in a parking lot and called er a night...good sleep...the sun is shining, not a cloud in the sky...gonna be a great day :)
So next update from...somewhere east of here!

Sunday day 6 I think
Well they call it a rain Forrest for a reason! Good god it rained hard last night! Woke me up a few times!
Oh...just a note..if your 100yr old great grandma gives you some fruit for the road...check it first to make sure it's not rotten! As I was stopping for the night, I noticed a little fly scooting around the van...and then anothr and another...so I turned on the light and..oh my..lots of little fruit flys! Shitty deal indeed! So the fruit went into the trash promptly! And the seem to be gone now!
Went for a run on the redwoods after my hike thru Stout grove. Great run, great time..was a mix of trail running over rocks and roots and stuff with some good up and downs, slippery bridges and abrupt endings! I cane around this one corner and boom!...river! I thought it was going to wrap around and follow the shore...nope! So slammed on the brakes and ate shit abit! But overall a good run!
So I'm back @ Starbucks updating everything and I'll be heading for Reno tonight...not too sure how long it's gonna take...but I'll giver and see where I end up.
I am enjoying the trip so far...I do miss chatting with friends.
Anyways...I should hit the road.

Sat night update
Well here I am in Cresent city CA...missed the turn off to where I was supposed to go...so of course I found a Starbucks lol...so with some googleing I have a ruff idea where to go now. Should be a nice day and some food hiking.
I kinda want to stay in the city tonight and try to meet some people and have a Halloween party like everyone else....bit that would kinda defeat the purpose of the trip and cost me a bunch of cash witch in trying to conserve...so I will head into the bush tonight and wake up ready for a great day in the groves. Who knows...maybe I'll run into some cool tree huggers...if I do...I'll tell them I used to log...and the the fun begin!!!
