Had a good day yesterday.....lots of driving again...glad i did a bunch at night the day before.....its a long, flat, straight drive across SD.....So yesterday was across the last bit of SD and into MN....flat and boring. So i came to a junction in southern MN with a fork going north to St Paul / Minneapolis....and i thought...hey, why not, got some day light left.....so i MADE A DECISION and north bound i went. Driving, driving, driving....and i thought...hey...the Wild play in St. Paul......out comes the Blackberry.....and of course...they are playing the Calgary Flames....ding dong.....find the address for the rink...into the gps...and away we go. Found cheap parking, scalped a ticket ( 1/2 price) and watched a game!
I had to cheer for the Flames....it hurt to do it...but there was no way in hell i was going to cheer for the Wild...Go Canada! There was a bunch of Flames fans there...like alot...i don't know if they were with the team or on a road trip or what....lots of Jets jerseys as well and some team Canada too!
Super nice rink.....like real nice.....very cozy and comfortable. 17,000+ people there....i was sitting behind the real house wives of St. Paul!!! just hilarious!.....ok.....i was spying a bit....One was on her iPhone like the whole night with fb posts like...'Im at the hockey right noooooooooowwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!' and uploading videos and pics! Ok.....one or two pics is ok......but to constantly be doing it the whole night...come on...people don't care that much! I actually surprised that she could even lift her hand the rock on her finger was so big.......only to be equaled by her equally fake pretentious friend who showed up in the third steve (inside joke)...lol....period. They were like those rich people who go to Canucks games who go cus its a status thing....they don't give 2 shits about hockey....they just go to be seen and to say they went.
It was also funny people watching. There was a couple gals walking down the stairs to their seat....nothing to out of the ordinary there right.....lol....until i actually looked at them....Same hair cut.....like Jennifer Anniston i think......same shitty faded hair colouring and roots showing......unless that a look...i don't know.....but they were like exactly the same! Alot of the gals all looked the same....it was so funny!
It was funny....there was a couple beside me....and the gal said.....'I should pour beer on them and start a fight!!' I laughed and said I'm in!!.....The guy figured i was a Canuck and thought id be all over it! They were super nice actually. Oh..........Best pulled pork sandwich I've ever had......so good!!!
Flames did not play too well....they had a couple good pushes, a good pp and a couple good pk's....but over all sloppy.....Kipper let in a shitty goal that turned out to be the game winner. Calgary was out hit and out played the whole night.The Wild didn't look much better, but better enough to win the game.
So then i bailed and hit the road....drove till about 1230 central time, found a truck stop, not a great one...but a place to stop. Called her a night.
So today, I've got 1.5 hrs to Green Bay where i need to find out where to go for tailgating, i NEED to have a shower lol...do some laundry and if i can find a gym or go fro a run...then tomorrow, football football football! Should be a great day!
