Well.....a good day.....for today I'm glad I was alone....I spent the entire day wondering the air museum! Geek factor extreme! Really a great spot, very interactive and a very knowledgeable staff of fellow geeks. Example....did you know you and pull start am ME 262? ( most of you are going...WTF is a ME 262...lol...don't worry about it!) I won't ramble on too much about it...but a great place...also they have a great space section as well complete with some very cool rockets, actual space craft, and rocket engines!
That was my day. So now I'm sitting here In some dim lit Irish style pub with a very tasty pint of beer in my hand, live music in the background, and a tasty pizza on the way. After this it's an hour drive to the coast to find a spot and park for the nongt and then tomorrow, roseburg to see my 100 yr old gerat grandma! Should be great!
Driving yesterday...and some songs came on. Hearing these songs now vs a few months ago...2 different feelings...some songs make more sense...and some songs I still can't listen too, might not be able to again. I love music, as we all do...but the power it has is amazing..it can pump you up, knock you down, chill you out, help you work, escape reality or whatever is on your mind. Some songs for me can do all of the above somehow. I'm happy and at the same time I hate that music can do this...you can be in A mood, and a song can come on and just destroy you. Se songs will be etched in my mind forever, good and bad I guess.but good or bad, I'm happy that it has that impact on me. As much as it hurts sometimes I'm glad I can feel something......Morgan you can chime in any time ;)
So my pizza is here now....quite tasty actually! So good night to you...and next update or rant or whatever will be from another 4 hrs south into OR.

Tue recap
Good morning all! Yesterday was a great day,woke up to F-18's and E6-B's ripping around, went on a windy ferry ride...found some amazing beaches on the west coast of WA and a new camping spot it think south of Forks right on the beach.
Ate up alot of time yesterday but did not cover much ground!
Stopped in Astoria OR for a top up and a quick bite, and some grubby dude comes up to me, "hey man, can I get a jump?" yep no worries dude! He had one of those old Toyoda vans that kinda look like mine...it was beat down hard, he smelled like a hobo and kinda looked like one too. Super nice guy! His name was Jason and he's a 32yr old skater and surfer...so we chatted for a bit bout life and stuff...I told him bout my trip and he said right on man! You look pumped!! We talked about getting old....this guy looked like he was my age or younger...and just happy...ya know..(wow the music sucks in this Safeway sbucks...it's like late 80's thru mid 90's adult contemporary shit) any way....he gets by and loves life...college dude!
I'd love to write more but the ol iPhone is dying...the pos mastercrap inverter doesnt work worth a shit....so...plan B later today after the museum....
So off I go....excelsior!

Day 2
Well day one was a success...got thru the border with no issues....I mean other than the strip search...but I kinda enjoyed that ;)
It rained so much on the way down, but once I got to the park...it was great! So I drove around and found some wood...wet....but with my superior fire starting skills, I knew I wouldent have a prob! So got the fire going, sat and relaxed till I ran out of wood...then read...ya...I read....I am reading a very good book on the history of Metallica...very in depth book so far. Then crashed out. Not a great sleep, not due to cold, I think I'm just not used to going to bed @ 930! Woke up this morn, did my new rubber band workout...I dont know if the band will last the duration of the trip!
So, I have a triple grande caramel macciado in my hand writing on the iPhone that Neil gave me for a couple of 40's and a 6pack...Edward 40 hand will be

Today looks like a ferry ride to port Townsend and 6 ish hour drivedown the coast to...well...somewhere! Tomorrow...mcminninville OR for the air musem.
No shenanigans or huge revelations yet....but the trip is still young!

Monday Morning....Day 1
Well....i picked a hell of a day to hit the road! Its raining to beat all hell and looking @ the weather radar....its not going to let up for a while......that's why god invented things like rainx and rain coats i guess!
So got all the big stuff done....took a little longer than I would have liked but what can you do. This morning i have to re-pack my suit case, organize the van a little better, and take care of some other little shit.
Today's destination Whidbey Island....Deception Pass National Park......tomorrow ill make my way down to OR to the air museum there then down to see my great grandmother in Roseburg for her 100th b-day!
So next update will prob be wed/Thurs unless i find a Starubucks.....and lets be honest...i prob will!

Wendsday
Ok....so, van was supposed to be done yesterday night....get mom and dad to drive me out there...and of course not done....go out there again today....90% done! i have to ion on Friday and swap out a U joint in the front drive shaft....so Butch....the owner of the shop said....come on in you can do it and and i will just charge you for the parts....fair deal.
So updated departure date is sat at the earliest....a good friend of mine is in town...so think a bunch of us are going to get together and have us a good night....a going away party of sorts! Should be a good time.
So if i feel up for leaving Sat....i will....if not....watch football on Sunday and leave Monday. First stop, Woodby Island for the night at a state camp ground, then Mc Minnville to the air museum....Spruce Goose is there.....should be neat.
Had a bit of a shitty start to the day....couldn't go for a run cus my calf was all effed up.....i let it get to me and then a friend told me to stop looking @ the negative and what i cant do.....look at what i can do....adjust, adapt and move on....good advice.
Had a great night hanging with my sister and her kiddo Amelia......went for cheap pasta @ Delrios and a walk on Cresent beach.....Shes a neat kid....we only had one minor meltdown at dinner and a spilled glass of milk in my lap so not so bad! lol!
Now its bed time....tomorrow, pack the van, see some friends, go to Canadian tire and get some supplies for the Delica box and whatever else comes up.

Tuesday...
Howdy.....quick update....got home last night and went for a walk on the beach.....I have been alot of places in this country....and coming home to the Pier in the dark with the lights over top of it....is just amazing.
Had a good walk and time to think of some things........think of the good bys from my friends in Kelowna.....and as i said before...think about how lucky i am to have ppl the truly care about me.
I am nervous as shit....and i don't think that's going to change until i am across the border and on my way.....got my medical insurance today...thanks mom! and a big pile of free maps from bcaa....so with that and my GPS...i should be able to find some places. Going to pick up my van shortly....should be a 600$ or so bill....but....better than having a dead Delica in po dunk USA that i cant get parts for.
So departure is looking good for Thurs......Friday at the latest. First stop will be Woodby Island in Washington, have not been there in years....should be neat...might stay the night...who knows!

Monday morning
So its Monday morning....time to start packing up the van....got a pretty good idea of what I need to take...snow board, skates...warm clothes..lol......got some running around to to when i get back to the coast tomorrow...get some maint done on the van....see some friends and on the road......well that's plan D...still lots of letters left!
I was watching season 5 of Boston Legal while making breaky.....what a great show....its relevant, funny, smart and thought provoking...going after issues like big tobacco, voting rights, the legal drug companies....also...it explores relationships. 2 of the main characters...Alan Shore (David Spader) and Denny Crane ( William Shattner)...one a left wing liberal and the other a right wing Yankee flag waver. But they meet somewhere in the middle, respect each other,each others views.....they love each other. And....at the end of each day (show) they sit on a balcony overlooking Boston and have a scotch and a cigar and chat about the events of the day.....For me...this stirs up alot of emotions.
We should all be so lucky to have something or someone like that. I'm lucky.....as most of us are to have a person or persons in our lives like that. But at the same time.....for me anyway....being away from all of my friends back home and abroad....but also knowing that at the drop of a hat...anyone one of them would help me out in any way...no questions asked....its hard not being there.
Well i should get my ass in gear and stop babbling!
